traveling baja as a dharma bum and need advice

this winter a friend and i are planning to travel the baja penninsula by hiking and hitching.i need some advice on the most beautiful spots, what to look out for,can i get by w/o a tent, ect. anyone who has traveled like this or with any advice let a me in on some news.
